This course will provide training on how to develop a fire and life safety program using the systematic planning process. Students will become familiar with program, administration, and political issues including the use of cost/benefit analysis, develop public policy and understand legislative procedures at the local, state, and national level. Further, students will learn to create original educational materials that relate to local issues, training, program awareness, and an evaluation instrument to measure program outcome. This course will also detail methods and procedures on how to create goals and objectives, mission statements and review loss statistics so that goals are consistent with the organization’s mission. The student will create a program budget, evaluate subordinate performance, and demonstrate the ability to use local, state and federal employment regulations as they apply to personnel and organizations
