The Arizona Fire Chiefs Association invites you to participate in the 2016 AFCA Regional Battalion Chief Academy.  The Academy provides a training opportunity for those who are seeking advancement within their Departments, with sessions designed to provide instruction on Tactics, Leadership and Personnel matters.

The eight sessions scheduled for this year's Academy are on the following dates:

Thursday and Friday, October 19th & 20th

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, October 25th – 27th

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, November 1st – 3rd

*Lunch will be on your own each day.

All sessions will be held at the Avondale Fire and Rescue Department Administrative Offices located at 1825 N 107th Avenue and you must attend all 8 sessions to successfully complete the program.

Once again we are very excited about the caliber of instructors for this year's Academy and look forward to their presentations and training.  Some of our noted speakers are Christine Muldoon (ASU), Chief Greg Ruiz (Tempe FD), Chief Jim Critchely (Tucson FD), Battalion Chief John Mittendorf (LAFD, retired), Chief Scott Ferguson (Murrieta FD, California) Chief Dennis Compton (Mesa FD, retired), Chief Tom Shannon (Scottsdale FD), Chief Garrett Olson (San Luis Obispo, California FD), Chief Larry Rooney (Lodi FD, California), Chief Jim Morgan (Pinetop FD), and Chief Mark Gaillard (Flagstaff FD).

The tuition fee for the Academy is $425 for AFCA members, $475 for non-members. The program is limited to 50 participants so early registration is STRONGLY recommended as the program typically fills quickly.

Online  registration for the academy is available through the AFCA.  Registration for the program closes October 3rd.  Once your registration is received you will be provided with further information concerning the academy.
